SAPA Youth Theatre is thrilled to present Sister Act, the heavenly musical comedy! Following the outstanding success of Fame, School of Rock, Bugsy Malone, and Grease, Sister Act promises to be a joyful and unforgettable experience!
Deloris Van Cartier, a bold and vivacious aspiring singer from Philadelphia, auditions at her gangster boyfriend Curtis' nightclub, dreaming of stardom and hoping he'll introduce her to a big-time producer. When Curtis cruelly tells her she isn't ready, Deloris, heartbroken and betrayed, decides to break up with him. But her life takes a dramatic turn when she accidentally witnesses him commit a cold-blooded murder.
Fleeing to the police, she's placed in protective custody at a convent, of all places, until Curtis can be brought to justice. At first, Deloris feels completely out of her element, clashing with the strict, no-nonsense Reverend Mother and chafing under the convent's rigid rules. But everything changes when she's introduced to the convent's dismal choir.
As Deloris brings her infectious energy and flair to the group, she finds unexpected joy, friendship, and purpose among the quirky and lovable nuns.
Sister Act is a dazzling, feel-good musical that celebrates the power of music to bridge divides and bring communities together.
