Liz Sifford

Liz has been involved with the youth theatre for nearly 2 decades, running the company as Youth Theatre and Arts Officer for 15 years until 2022, still helping out as a chaperone on occasion.

Whilst studying Drama and Performance at Worcester University, Liz joined local drama group, Bridging The Gap led by Chris Gunter – the then Youth Theatre and Arts Officer – and Andy Higgitt of Jestaminute Community Theatre. Whilst in the group, she joined PYT as a session assistant, and after a term became a leader, going on to replace Chris when he left. She graduated with a 2:1 in her bachelor's degree, going on to study further for a National Diploma in Theatrical and Media Hair and Makeup. 

Liz is a self-employed circus artist and entertainer with skills in aerial arts, stilt walking, character work and fire performance. She has performed in a tour with CircusMash UK and Rogueplay Theatre Company in their performance IF ONLY I COULD. Liz has also performed aerial silks at the LG Arena, and worked with leading circus company Nofit State to Perform and lead circus workshops as part of Birmingham Hippodrome’s Summer in Southside and the new Birmingham Libraries' Four Square Weekender.

Liz is also the proud joint CEO of Valkyrie Events, along with her partner Ryan Nelson, with the company's main event Hand in Hand with Ukraine raising funds for the Red Cross to aid those affected by the war in Ukraine at the Palace Theatre in 2022.
