After James' time at the Palace Youth Theatre, he went on to study a degree at the Birmingham School of Acting.

James then went on to develop a professional performing career, performing in many professional productions across the country such as 'Roger' in Rent the Musical and the Prince in multiple pantomimes in venues like the Swan Theatre in Worcester.

James' career has taken a slight change within the last few years, becoming the Manager of the Old Joint Stock, a performance venue based in Birmingham city centre. There he has become a Director and Producer, directing and producting the productions: 'I Love you', 'You’re Perfect', 'Now Changes' and 'The Mad Ones'.  

James is also the founding editor for West End Best Friend, reviewing West End productions as press, often being invited to West End and touring professional productions to review them.
