Palace Drum Clinic in Association With UK National 5

The UK National Drum Fair, will be inviting some of the UK's top drumming talent to perform at The Palace Studio, Palace Theatre, Redditch.

The UK National Drum Fair and Redditch Palace Theatre are proud to announce an exciting new drumming event.

Started in May 2017 a monthly drum clinic, hosted by Matt Green from the UK National Drum Fair, will be inviting some of the UK's top drumming talent to perform at The Palace  Studio, Palace Theatre, Redditch.

There will also be a chance of a deserving local player every month to join the clinic via an open audition held a few weeks before. So whether you are a student, amateur or playing regularly in a band and would like the chance of playing with some of the countries leading drummers, please fill in the form on the ‘Apply to Play’ page. http://palacedrumclinic.com/index.html

COLIN WOOLWAY Founder of the Drumsense Programme 

Colin Woolway has been playing and teaching drums professionally since 1976. During those years he has done every kind of gig including theatre pit work, Jazz residencies, Cabaret and Variety shows, eight years with Suzi Quatro, and every kind of situation, from stadium tours with 30,000 people at every show, to scout huts and muddy gardens - you name it, he’s done it. 

He is best known these days as the founder of the Drumsense Teaching programme, and the author of “Drumsense” books and DVDs, and has been writing monthly columns for Rhythm magazine for over 20 years! 

Colin presently teaches at studios in Twickenham, The Brit School, and East London Arts & Music (ELAM), and regularly presents clinics, masterclasses and lectures, and is a long time endorser of Zildjian cymbals, Vic Firth sticks and Remo heads, Bill Sanders practice pads, Roland electronic drums, and more recently the British Drum Company. 

Matt Green is one of the UK's most versatile percussionists. He has emerged himself in all aspects of percussion and plays all range of music, from Baroque to Rock. Matthew often performs as a guest soloist with different groups, premier Big Bands and Jazz ensembles in and around the Midlands/London and in the studio recording for rock/pop artists. Matthew’s passion for world music which has lead him to work with such artists as Ravi Shankar, collaborating between Eastern and Western musicians, UK’s leading nasheed group SHAAM and on the west coast of Ireland's folk scene. Matt's very popular workshops/clinics are both educational and inspiring.
