Studley Operatic Society presents Frank Loesser's celebrated musical comedy about rolling the dice and falling in love under the bright lights of Broadway.

New York’s most infamous floating crap-game organizer, Nathan Detroit, is always one step ahead of the NYPD Police Department. He needs to find $1,000 cash to pay a garage owner so he can host the next biggest crap-game in town. Confidently he bets that notorious gambler, Sky Masterson, cannot get the straight-laced missionary worker, Sarah Brown, out on a date in Havana, Cuba. Despite some resistance, Sky finally negotiates a date with her in exchange for bringing people into her mission. Meanwhile, Nathan has his own relationship problems to deal with. His fiancée Adelaide, who he has been engaged to for fourteen years, is growing drastically impatient of waiting for him to walk her down the aisle. When bets and love seem at odds, the characters are called to question their priorities to make things right. Featuring some of Broadway’s greatest show stopping tunes, including: ‘Luck Be a Lady’, ‘Sit Down you’re Rockin' the Boat’ and ‘My Time of Da’y.

Considered by many to be the perfect musical comedy, Guys & Dolls ran for 1,200 performances when it opened on Broadway in 1950. It received nearly unanimous positive reviews from critics and won a bevy of awards, including Tony Awards, Drama Desks  and Olivier Awards. The Musical has had several Broadway and London revivals, as well as a 1955 film adaptation starring Marlon Brando, Jean Simmons, Frank Sinatra and Vivian Blaine.
